Description
VINIFICATION
The wine year of 2016 was atypical, the winter was hot and rainy, the spring cold and very rainy and the summer extremely hot and dry. Weather conditions contributed to an early sprouting (about two weeks), however, throughout the spring, there was a significant delay in the vegetative cycle, especially the “Painter”, which occurred with about two weeks delay. After careful selection, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, with macerations that lasted up to a maximum of 30 days. Malolactic fermentation took place in barrels, where the wine aged for 21 months.
TASTING NOTES
The “Vila Foz Tinto 2016” shows a beautiful and bright ruby color. With a mineral aroma, very intense in the notes of wild fruits and spices, it has a very seductive profile, with very discreet wood and in harmony with the fruit. With good volume in the mouth, it is structured but elegant thanks to good acidity and very fine tannins. Very long, delicate and very complex finish.
